Privacy Policy

Who we are

The ACI Ridge app is operated by Ridge Community Cathedral, a branch of Action Chapel International, located at 31 Volta Street, Ridge, Kumasi, Ghana (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy applies to the ACI Ridge mobile application and related services (together, the “App”). It works alongside our Terms & Conditions.

Information we collect

We aim to collect only what we need to provide a meaningful devotional experience.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect sensitive data beyond what you voluntarily provide.

App activity, on Android

The Android app includes Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. They record which screens are opened, whether a devotion was opened and finished, whether narration played to the end, how sign-in and notification permission turned out, when a notification is opened, and any error the App recovers from. Google also collects standard technical details automatically, such as your device model, operating system version and approximate country.

None of it is linked to you. We deliberately do not send any account identifier, so these records cannot be connected to your name, your email address or your account. They answer “how many people finished today” and never “which people”. We have also removed the advertising identifier that this software would otherwise collect, and nothing recorded is used for advertising or shared with data brokers.

The iPhone app contains none of this — no analytics and no crash-reporting — and is unchanged.

What we still do not collect

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, or the content of anything you read or write. We keep no per-person record of your reading progress, your streaks, or which prayers or declarations you completed — the App has no streak feature and stores no history of your days, on our servers or on your device.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and personalise the App and its devotional features.
• To remember your preferences.
• To send notifications you have opted into, such as daily devotions and service reminders.
• To protect the security and integrity of the App and to comply with law.

Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for example, push notifications); the performance of our agreement with you to provide the App; our legitimate interests in keeping the App secure and improving it; and compliance with legal obligations.

How we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run the App:

• Service providers who host, authenticate, or deliver the App on our behalf, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our community.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.

Third-party services & SDKs

The App relies on a deliberately short list of providers:

• Apple (iPhone) — App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple for authentication, and the Apple Push Notification service for the reminders you opt into.
• Google (Android) — Google Play distribution, Sign in with Google for authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging for the reminders you opt into, and Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for anonymous usage and error reporting. Firebase Cloud Messaging receives a device token and the contents of the notifications we send you. Analytics and Crashlytics receive the app-activity and diagnostic information described above, with no identifier that would tie it to your account.
• Supabase — the hosted database that stores your account record, and the storage that serves devotional audio.

These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. The App contains no advertising SDKs, no attribution or ad-measurement tooling, and no data-broker integrations of any kind.

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your Apple password. Apple gives us a unique identifier for your account and an email address. Apple may also release your name the first time you sign in; we do not retain it. If you choose Apple’s Hide My Email option, the address we receive is a private relay address rather than your real one, and we will only ever see the relay address. Apple’s handling of your sign-in is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Sign in with Google

On Android, signing in is handled entirely by Google. We never see or store your Google password. Google gives us a unique identifier for your account and the email address on it. Google does not offer an equivalent of Hide My Email, so the address we receive is the real one. Google’s handling of your sign-in is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate, legal, or accounting purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can delete your account and its data yourself, from inside the App, at any time (see Your rights).

Android app-activity and diagnostic records are held by Google for a limited period set in our Firebase configuration, and are deleted automatically when it expires. Because they carry no identifier of you, deleting your account does not remove them — there is nothing in them to find you by, and nothing that could be connected back to you afterwards.

How we protect your data

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and trusted infrastructure providers — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent — for example by turning off notifications in your device settings.
• Portability — receive a copy of certain data in a usable format.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the App: open Settings, tap Delete account under Account, and confirm. On iPhone you will be asked to confirm with Apple first, so that only you can delete your own account; on Android the swipe to confirm is the final step.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your email address, the identifier your sign-in provider issued, your notification preferences, reminder time and time zone, and your push token. We keep no copy, and there is no recovery period — if you sign up again later, you start fresh. On iPhone we also ask Apple, as part of the same step, to revoke the App’s Sign in with Apple access, so the App will no longer appear under your Apple ID. Google offers no equivalent revocation, so on Android you may wish to remove the App under your Google Account’s third-party access settings.

If you would rather we did it for you, or you no longer have the App installed, email us at hello@aciridge.com and we will delete your account data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

Children’s privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it. Parents and guardians are responsible for any use of the App by minors in their care.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App and the law evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
