Signing in

The app uses Sign in with Apple, and it is the only way to sign in. You don’t create a separate password, and we never see your Apple password.

• If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, that works normally — we only ever receive the private relay address.
• To sign out, open Settings from the gear icon on the home screen and tap Sign out at the bottom.

No devotion showing today

If you see “Today’s lamp isn’t lit yet”, the app couldn’t load a devotion for today. Tap Try again — most often it’s a brief connection problem. If it persists for more than a few hours, please let us know, as it may mean today’s reading hasn’t been published yet.

Daily reminders & notifications

Reminders are off until you switch them on. Open Settings from the gear icon on the home screen, then look under Daily lamp:

• Push notifications — turn the daily reminder on or off.
• Remind me at — choose the time you’d like to be nudged each day.
• Community announcements — occasional news from the church, separate from your daily reminder.

Reminders aren’t arriving

• Check Push notifications is still on in the app’s Settings.
• Check iOS: Settings → Notifications → ACI Ridge and make sure Allow Notifications is enabled.
• Check whether a Focus or Do Not Disturb schedule covers your reminder time.
• Your phone needs a connection at the reminder time to receive it.

Narration & audio

The devotion, the prayers and the declarations can all be listened to rather than read. If you hear nothing:

• Check your phone isn’t on silent, and turn the volume up.
• In the prayer screen, check the speaker button in the top right isn’t muted.
• Audio is downloaded as you go, so a weak connection can delay it starting. The play button stays dimmed until the narration is ready.
• Keep the screen on while listening — narration pauses when the phone is locked.

Appearance & haptics

Under Settings → The app you can set Appearance to System, Light or Dark, and turn Haptic feedback — the gentle taps as you move through the day’s path — on or off.

Your account & data

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time:

• Open Settings from the gear icon on the home screen.
• Under Account, tap Delete account.
• Swipe to confirm, then confirm with Apple.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your email address, your reminder time and notification preferences, and we keep no copy — there is no recovery period. We also ask Apple to revoke the app’s Sign in with Apple access, so it will no longer appear under your Apple ID. If you sign up again later you start fresh.

What we hold

Very little: the email address and identifier Apple releases, your notification preferences, and a push token if you’ve enabled reminders. The app contains no analytics or tracking of any kind. Our Privacy Policy sets this out in full, alongside our Terms & Conditions.
